Rainbow Dress

Artist, writer and LGBTQ+ human rights activist Fleur Pierets was wearing the Amsterdam Rainbow Dress at the opening ceremony of Antwerp Pride 2019.

The Amsterdam Rainbow Dress is a living work of art, made of all the national flags from countries where homosexuality is illegal, on penalty of imprisonment, torture or capital punishment. When a country adopts LGBTI+ inclusive legislation, the respective flag shall be replaced with a rainbow flag.

As a foundation, their goal is to encourage debate and awareness about inclusion and equal rights throughout the planet. This iconic work of art in the shape of a dress encourages actively defending and celebrating the acquisition and institutionalization of freedom, while at the same showing the still disconcerting state of human rights in many parts of the world.
